Privacy Notice

Last revised June 15th, 2026

At ReturnMe, your privacy is a key part of how our lost & found recovery service works. Our goal is to help return your lost items while keeping your personal information protected.

Privacy at a glance

We collect only the information needed to provide our service.
When you create a ReturnMe account, we collect basic contact information such as your name, email address and country so we can contact you if one of your registered items is found. Additional information such as your phone number is optional.
Your personal information is not printed on your tag.
Your ReturnMe tag uses a unique ID number that connects to our secure system. This allows a finder to report your lost item without seeing your personal contact details.
We use your information to help recover your lost items.
We may use your contact information to notify you when an item is found, remind you to update your account, send membership or service updates, and support the recovery process.
We do not sell your personal information.
ReturnMe does not rent, sell, or share your personal information with outside companies for their own marketing purposes without your consent.
Finder and owner information is protected.
ReturnMe does not share the finder’s personal information with the owner, or the owner’s personal information with the finder, unless both parties agree or unless it is needed to help safely return the item.
Shipping may require limited information sharing.
If ReturnMe helps ship a lost item back to you, certain information such as your name, phone number, email, or shipping address may need to be shared with shipping partners or, in some cases, the finder. For security reasons, we recommend using a business, office, or alternative address instead of your home address when possible.
You control your account information.
You can log in to your ReturnMe account at any time to update your contact details, manage your contact preferences, or delete your account.
We take security seriously.
ReturnMe uses security measures, restricted database access, SSL technology, and secure service providers to help protect your information.
You are responsible for keeping your contact information up to date.
To make sure we can reach you if your item is found, please keep your account details current.

Please read our full Privacy Notice below for complete details.
